Bahia Principe’s business model is based on ensuring the company’s economic viability and on continuously advancing in integrating environmental and social criteria into their business. The objective is to work on integrating sustainable criteria, certified by international certification entities backed by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council such as EarthCheck and Travelife.
If we add Distintivo S and Bandera Azul (Blue Flag), Bahia Principe accrues over 38 recognitions distributed between hotels in Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Mexico and Canary Islands, and many more on the way as strict quality programs are followed with the CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) agenda.
As 2019 is months away from concluding Grupo
Piñero’s Bahia Principe continues to reach its own objectives when it comes to climate change.
“In 2017, we made a commitment to follow the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, a blueprint created by the United Nations with a stated aim to achieve peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future. There are seventeen SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) that stand at the core of the 2030 Agenda. We’re pleased to report that in the past year alone, Bahia Principe has initiated proactive measures to contribute to ten of them.” Said Antonia del Toro, director of corporate social responsibility at Grupo Piñero.
