On the other, there is evidence that the Mayans\nused to have a similar tradition where they broke a chocolate-filled clay pot\nwhile it remained suspended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Originally\nthey were only made of clay. Nowadays one can find them made of clay pots lined\nwith colorful papers and decorations. The colorful item is shaped to a\nseven-pointed star, where each peak represents a capital sin, while the\ndecoration represents temptation. Breaking it blindfolded represents blind\nfaith and the will to win. While the fruits, or treats inside, are the riches\nor rewards of having won.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During\nMexican celebrations, they are filled with seasonal fruits such as tejocote,\njicama, lime, sugar cane, tangerine, orange, peanuts, and varieties of sweets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Did you know&#8230; The person designated to break the pi\u00f1ata is rotated 33 times before starting.
