The lobby is the central axis of the Hotel.<\/strong> It is full of symbols, but the most spectacular of all is the majestic column that dominates everything around it and is a symbol of welcome to all visitors. The three \u201clayers\u201d or realms of the Mayan world are engraved on this column: \u200b<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Underworld:<\/strong> A watery place where souls went to purify themselves. This is represented in the column, at the water level, by a priest who is making a journey of purification. He is accompanied by four guides who will facilitate the journey: \u200b<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Iguana<\/span>: represents man\u2019s connection to the earth. \u200b
The Monkey<\/span>: between the earth and the celestial space. \u200b
The Parakeet<\/span>: represents flight, the celestial space. \u200b
The Dog<\/span>: the guardian of this particular expedition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Middleworld or Natural World<\/strong>: In the middle of the column there are three human figures representing life itself, and the three most significant aspects of life for the Mayans: Happiness, Knowledge, and Fear of the Gods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Upperworld or Cosmos<\/strong>: The engraving of a serpent with two heads represents infinity, cosmic life.\u200b\u200b<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, and as a symbol of orientation, the palapa<\/strong> column<\/strong> emerges and at its end, it has the four cardinal points engraved in Mayan ideograms. \u200b<\/p>\n\n\n\n
