The Curtain Falls on 2020

2020 kicked-off with two splendid months, a few “okay” couple of days, and a few months with the lights turned off in light of COVID-19. The second half of the year lit the eyes of many as ribbons were cut and doors reopened. The curtain falls on 2020 as we look back at the events that took place.

The show resumed last July as a number of destinations reopened their doors just in time to see the vacation of many Privilege Club members materialize. The safety and health measures set in place by Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts allowed all to enjoy their all-inclusive vacation, the warm waves of the beach, the tropical flavors, and all in a safe environment. A very well-deserved parenthesis in the midst of everything.

Improvement and renovations were not forgotten either. The first hotel to reopen in the Riviera Maya resort, Bahia Principe Luxury Akumal, not only returned eager to welcome guests back but with a number of renewed spaces and new services, such as the Coffee Shop.

Last November 15 the countdown to “Origin” hit zero, and we all saw the doors of Bahia Principe Grand Tulum reopen. This comprehensive renovation paved the way for new facilities, expanded services, new concepts, and the opening of a brand new Privilege Lounge, only a few steps away from the beach.

Just a year before its 20^th anniversary, and while closed to the public, Bahia Principe Grand El Portillo experienced a fire on-site. The material loss was turned into opportunities as the property got a make-over, undergoing an extensive renovation under the concept “Mirror of the Sea”. Last December 18 the hotel reopened its doors to the public.
